How To Install WordPress On Subdomain Using Cpanel?

WordPress is the first choosable CMS platform for every webmaster to create a worthy blog or website. But most of them don’t know how to create a subdomain & install them to WordPress.  That’s way, I will share a simple guide to install WordPress on subdomain with cPanel control.

There are plenty tips, tricks regarding WordPress installation using cPanel or other ways. But most of the webmasters don’t know how to create a subdomain or install them to WordPress easily.

One thing is that WordPress installation process might be different because it will depend on a Hosting control panel. All hosting providers don’t provide the equal control panel to install WordPress.

That way, for a beginner, should use cPanel based hosting server that is pretty easy for controlling all hosting or domain related steps.

To setup WordPress on a subdomain is so much easier if you use cPanel because cPanel is better than an FTP control panel.

So I recommend you before going to buy any hosting, you should check their cPanel feature.

However, WordPress installation process in root domain is different than the subdomain installation process.

Ultimately before going to install WordPress on subdomain, firstly you have to create a subdomain URL.

So let’s see how to create a subdomain?

How To Create A Subdomain With cPanel?

First of all, Login your cPanel control, then find domain section and click on ‘Subdomain’. See the below screenshot

After that, type your subdomain name in ‘subdomain’ creation box. Then click the mouse button from anywhere of this window because if you click in blank space, you will see the domain root folder that will be created automatically before creating a new subdomain.

Note: You can set a custom domain root folder as any name if you want. If you don’t want to change, then there is no problem.

However, after checking or setting your custom domain root folder, Click ‘create’ button.

After that, you will see a new window written You have successfully created “”.

Well, now click ‘Go back’ Button to see your new subdomain.

Your subdomain creation process has completed. Now you have to install WordPress on it.

How To Install WordPress On Subdomain?

I have talked before to install WordPress on Subdomain using cPanel is pretty easy than other installation processes. Because every cPanel base hosting provider includes 1-click WordPress installation process for their users.

So to install WordPress on Subdomain, firstly go to cPanel dashboard then find ‘Sofaculous Apps Installer’ tab then click on the WordPress app or icon.

Now click ‘Install’

After clicking, you will get a few requirements of installing WordPress on a subdomain or main domain.

SoftWare Setup Section:

  1. First of all Choose Protocol:

If your site has SSL, then please choose the HTTPS protocol. Otherwise, you can choose www. Or HTTP:// protocol.

  1. Choose Domain:

Please choose the domain to install the software. If you want to install WordPress on a new subdomain, then click on this drop-down menu and select your subdomain.

  1. In Directory: Remove ‘wp’ from this box.

Site Settings Section:

  1. Site Name & description: Put your site name and description or you can set it later.
  2. Enable Multisite (WPMU): This feature will Enable Multisite option for your WordPress blog. Your server must support Apache mod_rewrite to use this feature. If you don’t have this requirement, then don’t touch this option.

Admin Account Section:

  1. Admin Username/Password & Email: Set your WordPress admin login username, password, and email address. Remember that you can change Email and password later.
  2. Choose Language:
  3. Select language, by default English. But you can change it whatever you want.

Select Plugin Section:

  1. Tick this Limit Login Attempts (Loginizer) option. (Recommended)

Advanced Options Section:

  1. Click Advanced options drop-down menu for setting the Database Name, Table Prefix name, Automated backup schedule, Auto Upgrade WordPress Plugins, Auto Upgrade WordPress Themes etc.

Select Theme Section:

  1. And finally select a theme, then click ‘Install’ Button.

Note: if you want to get installation details to your email, put your email address. Then click install.

Ok, your Subdomain WordPress site is ready for use.

To easily create a subdomain and install them to WordPress, you can use cPanel base control panel. I’m using cPanel over a year. So That’s pretty easy to use.
